As a school we sent out a questionnaire to Year 6 parents/carers to find out how many children in Year 6 could:

• swim 25m competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25m. 
• use a range of strokes effectively.
• perform safe self rescue in different  water based situations.

Out of the 46 replies received the results are as follows:

• 31/46 could swim 25m confidently.
• 27/46 could perform a range of strokes.
• 24/46 could perform safe self rescue.
