Year 5 Explore History at the Imperial War Museum London

Year 5 had an exciting and thought-provoking visit to the Imperial War Museum London this week as part of their history learning.
During the trip, the children had the opportunity to explore a range of fascinating exhibitions, discovering how major world events have shaped the lives of people throughout history. They learned about the experiences of those who lived through the First and Second World Wars, viewed authentic artefacts, and examined powerful displays that brought history to life.
The visit provided pupils with a deeper understanding of the topics they have been studying in class, helping them to make meaningful connections between historical events and the lives of real people. Throughout the day, the children demonstrated excellent behaviour, curiosity, and respect while engaging with the exhibits and asking thoughtful questions.
One of the highlights of the trip was seeing historic vehicles, personal belongings, and wartime memorabilia up close, which sparked plenty of discussion and learning. The experience gave pupils a valuable insight into the impact of conflict on communities around the world and the importance of remembering the past.
We are incredibly proud of our Year 5 pupils for the way they represented the school and for their enthusiasm towards learning. A big thank you goes to our staff and volunteers who helped make the trip such a memorable and enriching experience.
We look forward to building on this learning back in the classroom and hearing more about the children's favourite parts of the visit.
