REMINDER: WORLD BOOK DAY COMPETITION. This year, 'Go All In' – the National Year of Reading campaign (supported by the World Book Day charity) aims to get more people reading, by bringing reading to where culture is. "If you're into it, read into it." The National Year of Reading is reconnecting reading with the things that already inspire us – "from playlists and football matches to films, food and family time. It's reading that fits how we live, not the other way around." In support of this, we are launching a 'We Go All In' competition with prizes of £10 book vouchers for one winner for each house in EYFS/KS1 and one for each house in KS2! We are encouraging children to bring in/upload to Google Classroom a photograph of themselves reading in a place linked to something they love. For example: Reading a football magazine at the pitch Reading a recipe before cooking Reading instructions while building Lego Reading a Pokémon guide while trading cards Reading lyrics while listening to music Reading a map on a family walk The photograph should be accompanied by a short caption (2-4 sentences) explaining: What they are into What they are reading How the reading helps them enjoy that interest more Entries can be brought in/uploaded from 13th February to 6th March.
