Year 6 Drugs and Vaping Awareness Workshop

As part of our preparation for the transition to secondary school, our Year 6 pupils recently took part in an engaging workshop (run by Thurrock Young Person’s Drug & Alcohol Service) focusing on vaping and drug awareness.
The session provided age-appropriate, evidence-informed information to help pupils understand the facts about vaping and drugs, challenge common myths and misconceptions and develop the knowledge and confidence to make informed, healthy choices.
With many children experiencing greater independence over the summer holidays and as they move on to secondary school, the workshop aimed to equip pupils with the skills they need to recognise risks, resist peer pressure, and make positive decisions.
The pupils participated thoughtfully throughout the session, asking insightful questions and demonstrating a mature approach to an important topic. We hope this workshop will support them as they take the next exciting step in their education.
